Privacy
Last updated October 10, 2026
Voxuu has no accounts and asks for no email, phone number or real name. This page lists everything we do keep, and for how long.
Your video and audio
Your camera and microphone are sent from your browser to our media server, which passes them on to the other people in the room. They are encrypted on the way, and we never record or store them. Because they pass through our server, the encryption is between your browser and the server — not end-to-end.
Your name
You choose the name others see, or we make one up for you. Your browser remembers it (in its local storage) so you keep it next time; you can change it before joining any room.
Chat messages
Messages you type in a call stay in that room for 7 days, so people who join later can read them, and are then deleted automatically. Anyone who joins the room in that time can read them — in an open room, that means anyone.
The join log
When you start a private call, join or leave a room, or switch your camera, microphone or screen sharing, we record the time, the room, your IP address and, once you join, your name and a random session ID. We use this to stop abuse and keep the service running. Each entry is deleted after 7 days.
Captions
Live captions use your browser's own speech recognition. While captions are on, your browser may send your audio to its maker's speech service — Google in Chrome, Apple in Safari — to turn it into text. Voxuu does not receive that audio. The text is shown to the others in the call: it passes through our server like your video, and is not stored. Captions are off unless you turn them on.
What we don't do
- No tracking or advertising cookies, and no analytics.
- No third-party scripts. Fonts are served from voxuu.com, not from Google.
- We don't sell or share anything with advertisers or data brokers.
Where it lives
Voxuu runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States (Virginia). If you are outside the US, your call and the records above are processed there.
Questions or deletion
Write to privacy@voxuu.com. Everything above deletes itself within 7 days, but if you want something removed sooner, tell us the room and the time and we will.
